Wholesale POS

Wholesale POS for distributors with a counter

A wholesale point of sale that shares customer price tiers, inventory and order history with B2B ordering. Built for distributors with a counter.

  • Barcode scanning and receipt printing
  • Customer price tiers applied at the counter
  • Order history shared with online ordering

Clixo built wholesale POS software for Gokul Wholesale and ANG Wholesale. Counter sales share inventory and customer price tiers with online ordering.

At a wholesale counter, the buyer is usually a trade customer the office already knows. Their customer record and price tier should be available when staff look them up.

What the counter does

This is what runs at Gokul Wholesale and ANG Wholesale today:

  • Barcode scanning. Staff scan the item instead of typing in a SKU.
  • Receipt printing. Every sale prints a receipt and stays on the customer's record, so the office can find it later.
  • Customer price tiers. Prices are set per account in the back office and apply at the counter automatically.
  • Tax rules. Tax follows the rules the distributor sets. At Gokul that includes Illinois tobacco tax tracking.
  • Shared order history. Counter sales and online orders land on the same customer record.
  • Reporting. Counter sales show up in the same reports as the rest of the business.

Counter, portal and warehouse on one record

A walk-in buyer and a customer ordering on the portal use the same customer record and price tier. A case scanned at the window comes off the same inventory the portal sells from.

That's the idea behind our POS systems work: a register that keeps its own count is running a second business. The portal is how customers order when they aren't standing there. The counter is for when they are. Both should write to the same record.

Who it is for

C-store, tobacco, beverage and general merchandise distributors with a will-call window, where buyers already have accounts and pick up in person.

If you run a café or a single retail shop, an off-the-shelf register is probably the better buy.

We're in Itasca, IL, and work with distributors across Chicagoland.

How we work

You can start with the counter or with the whole loop. The whole loop, from ordering portal to warehouse, is wholesale distribution systems. If the problem is the back office record behind the sale, see ERP systems.

We spend time at your counter before we design anything. We write down the cases the window actually sees: the account that picks up, case quantities, price tiers and item tax. The first version is a working checkout on your real catalog, with totals that match the back office. You get weekly notes and you own the system.
