# A wholesale system your customers and warehouse can share

> Clixo builds wholesale systems a distributor can run every day — customer ordering, inventory, and pricing that live in one place instead of email, spreadsheets, and a counter notebook.

- **Service:** Wholesale distribution systems
- **Canonical URL:** https://clixo.sh/services/wholesale-distribution-systems
- **Provider:** Clixo — Itasca, IL (hello@clixo.sh)
- **Highlights:**
  - B2B ordering your customers will reuse
  - One inventory count, not three tallies
  - Customer-specific pricing and accounts
  - Counter, warehouse, and office on the same record

Most wholesale software is either a horizontal ERP that treats distribution as a module, or a portal bolted onto a stack the warehouse does not use. Customers stop logging in. Staff keep a second count in a notebook. Pricing lives in someone's head.

Clixo builds the system the operation actually runs: the order, the count, the price, and the account — in one place.

## The problem we take on

A distributor's day is a set of handoffs. A customer reorders. Someone checks stock. Someone picks. Someone invoices. When those steps live in email, a legacy screen, and a spreadsheet, the business is only as accurate as the last person who typed the number twice.

That is a software problem, but it is not a "buy NetSuite" problem. Packaged ERP is built for a generic company. Wholesale pain is specific: customer-specific pricing, partial fills, returns that have to reverse the count, a counter sale that must not oversell what the portal just promised.

## What we actually build

We start from the workflow, not a product catalog.

- **A B2B ordering portal** customers will reopen — their price, their history, a reorder that does not require a phone call.
- **Inventory that updates when work happens**, not overnight, and not in a third spreadsheet.
- **Accounts and pricing** the office can maintain without asking an engineer to edit a row.
- **Connections to the counter and the warehouse** so a sale in one place is a sale everywhere.

We have shipped this shape of system. A [wholesale distribution platform we built is in daily use](https://clixo.sh/work/digital-transformation-distributor) — not a demo, not a slide. We keep the client unnamed here; the capability is the point.

## Who this is for

Independent and mid-size wholesalers and distributors — especially operators who already know their process and are tired of bending it around software that does not know the trade.

It is a poor fit if you want a configured commercial ERP with a long partner rollout, or if the only ask is a marketing site with an "order now" button.

Clixo works from Itasca, in the Chicagoland distribution corridor. Geography is context, not a keyword: the studio is here, the work is the system.

## How we work

Same rhythm as the rest of the studio. We [scope](https://clixo.sh/#contact) the smallest slice that would change a real day — often reorder + stock, or the portal sitting on a clean price list — then prototype it against your actual SKUs and accounts. We build in weekly slices you can see. We launch when the floor will use it, not when a slide says "go-live." We stay for maintenance if you want the system kept.

We will not promise a leakage number, a cycle-time percentage, or a rank against a named competitor. If a claim is not something we can defend, it does not go on the page.

## Frequently asked

### Do you replace our ERP, or sit next to it?

Usually we sit next to it. If a ledger, RMS, or accounting package is already the financial system of record, we integrate rather than rip it out. A full replacement only makes sense when the current stack is spreadsheets and a tool nobody trusts.

### What does a wholesale build actually include?

The pieces operators touch daily: customer ordering, inventory, account pricing, and the handoff to the warehouse or the counter. We do not start with a twelve-module 'distribution suite' and configure you into it.

### Who is this for?

Wholesale and distribution operators whose customers still order by phone, email, or a portal they avoid — and whose warehouse, counter, and office do not share a count. We work from Itasca with teams across Chicagoland and the Midwest; the work is the system, not the ZIP code.

### Can we see something you've shipped?

Yes. We built a wholesale distribution platform a real distributor uses every day. The write-up is anonymized and does not invent percentage gains — it describes the system and the problem it solved.
